Test Criteria

Fasting required for 8-12 hrs. and can only drink water prior to giving blood samples in the morning, Also ensure to give first mid stream urine sample to sample collector (if included in package/profile). Should be prescribed by Doctor.

1. Who should get an HIV screening test?

2. How soon after exposure should I get tested?

Antibodies usually develop within 2 to 12 weeks after exposure. If you’ve had a recent risk, doctors often recommend testing at 3 weeks, then again at 3 months for confirmation.

3. What does a positive HIV test mean?

A positive result means HIV antibodies were found in your blood, indicating infection. A confirmatory test like the HIV 1 Western Blot will be done to ensure accuracy. Early diagnosis allows you to start treatment and manage the condition effectively.
